In a two-decade old career in media, (starting in 1997 with The Asian Age in Bhubaneswar), Piyush Roy has worked at senior reporting positions in leading Indian English language dailies (Hindustan Times, The Indian Express)[1] and magazines (Society, Stardust).
He has also been published in The Times of India Crest Edition, Health & Nutrition, Screen, People and Scroll.in. In 2011, he became the second editor of film weekly Star Week, and subsequently the editor of Stardust. Currently, he is the Art & Culture Editor of UK-based academic journal, The South Asianist and was the Journal Editor for its special issue “Celebrating a Century of Indian Cinema: Passions, Pleasures & Perceptions”, Dec. 2013. Roy made his debut as a columnist with ‘Sunday Talkies’ for the Sunday Post in April 2011 and has since been widely published in major English language dailies across India. He has been interviewed and quoted in analytical cinema themed articles/reports in online
