• 2013: ‘Special Mention’ Best Film Critic Award at the ‘60th Indian National Film Awards (the Indian Oscars) for 2012,’ presented by the President of India ‘for in-depth knowledge of cinema and easy, informative style’.

• 2013: The Sue Grant Service Award by the University of Edinburgh Graduate School of Social and Political Science for ‘the most significant contribution to the postgraduate community or wider community in 2012-13’.
